MIKA KICKSTARTS A LANGAR SERVICE FOR THE NEEDY AND FRONTLINE WORKERS DURING THESE TESTING TIMES

Zee TV has been a pioneer and a trend-setter in shaping television content over the past three decades and once again, it seems to be changing the face of music reality shows with its latest non-fiction property, the Indian Pro Music League (IPML). While the world of sports has seen several league competitions, this unique music league has six teams representing different regions of Bharat, battling it out against each other in a musical championship. While the show has entertained the audience until now, the recent restrictions put by Maharashtra Government in light of the Covid-19 pandemic has led to halt on shooting of fresh episodes for the show. During the phase of the lockdown, all the captains have kept themselves occupied with something or the other, but it is Punjab Lions captain Mika Singh who has caught everyone’s attention through his noble deeds.

Since the show started, all the six teams have been going all out to put their best foot forward and entertain the audience. One such team that left the viewers spellbound every single time was Punjab Lions, captain Mika Singh has been influential in the

team’s progress throughout the season. While he is surely missing shooting for Indian Pro Music League during this lockdown, Mika is also doing his bit to help those in need. He has started a ‘langar seva’ for all the needy people who are battling hunger during this pandemic. The ace musician realises that a lot of people have lost their livelihood and won’t have money to buy food. We also have frontline workers like cops, bus drivers, amongst others who are working round the clock during this time. To provide them with fresh, home-cooked food, Mika in association with his NGO Divine Touch, has started a langar seva in Mumbai, Delhi, Indore while trying to extend the service to other parts of the country too.

As the captain of Punjab Lions Mika Singh reveals, “Right now, people are dying of hunger rather than coronavirus. We should worry about people who are on the road and need food, the unemployed need food. People don't have drinking water, clothes to wear and a place to sleep, and it's time we take their living into consideration as well. It's my humble request to everyone, do help them out. My NGO - Divine Touch has started an initiative to provide home-cooked food and water to the needy as well as to the frontline workers on a daily basis, and while I am doing my bit, I hope others come out and help too.”

While Mika continues his noble deed, this weekend, we will see the best performances by all the captains from the first four innings on the show. In the meantime, here’s wishing that the pandemic and everyone’s suffering ends soon. Please stay safe and indoors.

To watch the best performances of all the captains till date on the show, tune into the Indian Pro Music League this Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm, only on Zee TV
