LOHRI CELEBRATIONS IN &TV’S BHABIJI GHAR PAR HAI AND HAPPU KI ULTAN PALTAN

With the festival of Lohri right around the corner, &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai and Happu Ki Ultan Paltan will have special episodes on the harvest festival with preparations in full vigour and enthusiasm. In Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, Manmohan Tiwari (Rohitashv Gour), TMT (Vaibhav Mathur, Deepesh Bhan, Saleem Zaidi), Saxena (Saanand Verma), and Vibhuti Mishra (Aasif Sheikh) gather around the bonfire and sing and dance to the tunes of a popular Lohri song.

Talking about the track and the rituals and traditions, Angoori Bhabi (Shubhangi Atre) shares, “Lohri holds a lot of importance for Punjabis. This festival denotes the onset of the harvesting of Rabi crops, and all the farmers get together to thank Surya the Sun God for the crops they have reaped in the past year while also praying to continue giving them a bumper harvest.

Most of the rituals related to Lohri symbolize the attachment of the people with Mother Nature and is celebrated with singing folk songs and eating traditional delicacies.”.

In Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, Daroga Happu Singh’s (Yogesh Tripathi) family - Katori Amma (Himani Shivpuri), Khodi Lal (Shyam Vyas), Kamlesh (Sanjay Choudhary), Kate (Aashna Kishore) and his Dabbang Dulhania, Rajesh Singh (Kamna Pathak) will be preparing for Lohri.

At the same time, Rajesh will continue to be possessed by Khodi Lal’s spirit but will be calm for the time being. Stepping in and trying to make the most of the situation, Katori Amma decides to assemble everyone while Rajesh quickly performs the Lohri pooja.

Elaborating further on this track, Himani Shivpuri, who plays Katori Amma, says, “Like every other festival, Lohri is also an

occasion of getting together. It is a time when near and dear ones meet and enjoy the celebrations together. Food also plays an important role wherein everyone enjoys cooking and eating Sarson ka saag, Makki ki roti and rau di kheer.

We in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan have tried to replicate these celebrations with our family in our small way. We wish everyone a very Happy Lohri!”

Watch the Lohri special on Happu Ki Ultan Paltan and Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, every Monday to Friday at 10:00 pm and 10.30 pm respectively only on &TV!
